Hiya, everybuddy. The Gang of Four has been kinda busy these past two weeks helpin' mommy get through the awful bad news from Noo Yorkie and the Pennagone. Our Poppop has a cuzzin who is on the missing list in Noo Yorkie, an' mom has been helpin' out wiff some of the local relief efforts. But we wanted to help too, so when Gus got the following E-mail from the American Kennel Club he sent it to us, an' mom pledged to send munny to match alla Gus' entry fees for the next two months to the fund. We wanted to ask all the other bad dogs and their peepul to help the rescue pups, too, if they can. Mom says, please note that the donations are NOT tax-deductible, so if you do send munny, it is out of the goodness of your heart. So here goes the E-mail from the AKC, an' if you can send munny, please help an' God Bless America an' alla the pups an' peepuls in it. Taz, for once serious ECS in Maryland

New York, NY - The American Kennel Club and The AKC Companion Animal Recovery, CAR, responded to this week's devatating terrorist attacks with financial support on behalf of our organization and the sport of purebred dogs.

The "AKC/AKC CAR Disaster Relief Fund" has been established to provide support for search and rescue dogs and relief for pets of disaster victims. AKC and AKC CAR have each contributed $25,000 to establish the Fund. These funds will be directed in a variety of ways for dog related assistance including transporation, care and feeding of search and rescue dogs as well as help for their handlers. In addition, these funds will be used to aid animals that have lost their owners.

The fancy may contribute to The "AKC/AKC CAR Disaster Relief Fund". Checks or money orders (no cash, please) should be made payable to The "AKC/AKC CAR Disaster Relief Fund". Checks should be sent to the Fund Administrator, Thomas G. Murphy, Chief Financial Officer, The American Kennel Club, 260 Madison Avenue, 4th Floor, New York, NY 10016.

Potential Donors should note that as the AKC is not a charity, donations to these funds are not tax deductible.

In addition to the monetary contributions, The AKC has coordinated contribution efforts with dog food and dog supply companies with commitments from Iams, Purina, Pedigree and Cherrybrook.

MB-F and InfoDog have announced that a portion of each fax and online entry processing fee received from midnight Sunday, September 16, through Noon, Friday, September 21 will be donated to the AKC/AKC CAR Disaster Relief Fund.
